Our Inspiration

George E. Peterson IV believed in making the most of every single day, and he did just that. Through his actions, relationships, and relentless positivity, he left a mark that continues to ripple outward. The Make the Most Foundation was created in his honor to carry that spirit forward.

Live Fully.

George had an unmatched enthusiasm for life. Whether he was hiking a trail, tubing down a river, riding roller coasters at Seabreeze, or spending a quiet Sunday making chili and watching football, he embraced each moment with joy and intention. He never waited for the “perfect time”, he made ordinary days unforgettable. George seized every opportunity, large or small, and inspired others to do the same. He believed that living fully meant showing up—for adventures, for milestones, and sometimes, in the most meaningful ways, for no reason at all. An unexpected visit from George, even from hundreds of miles away, was never out of the question.

Give Freely.

Service was in George’s DNA. He gave without hesitation...his time, his energy, and his support. He was known for lending a hand before one was even asked for. Whether helping a friend move, mentoring students, or lifting the spirits of someone going through a hard time, George showed up. As an RIT alumnus, he maintained close ties to the university and offered opportunities to students whenever he could, knowing how much it meant to be seen and supported early in one’s journey. His work ethic was tireless, and his generosity came without conditions.

Love Deeply.

To George, family was everything, but family didn’t just mean blood. His friendships ran deep and often became lifelong bonds, built on loyalty, humor, and heart. He made people feel included, safe, and loved. His acts of love weren’t always loud but they were consistent, sincere, and deeply felt. George listened. He showed up. He believed in people and reminded them they mattered. Loving deeply, to him, meant being there...for the big things, the small things, and everything in between.
